High-resolution electric field and temperature distributions in positive streamers

چکیده
In this work, we aim to take a detailed experimental picture of the positive streamer. We apply optical emission spectroscopy first negative system (FNS, B2Σu+→X2g+ ) id="m2">N2+ and second (SPS, C 3 Π u → B g N 2 . Large, centimeter wide, highly reproducible streamers are created in pure nitrogen synthetic air, at pressures ranging from 33 266 mbar. Direct time resolved spectral imaging space charge layer resulted spatiotemporal maps calculated reduced electric field strength ( E / rovibrational temperature sub-nanosecond sub-millimetre resolution. The peaks approximately 540 480 Td, directly front layer, for air respectively, as determined by using intensity ratio method FNS SPS. A global model PLASIMO uses experimentally distribution draw gas kinetics around passage. addition, results serve reference interpret rotational vibrational temperatures obtained SPS emissions.

Generation of high-resolution surface temperature distributions
We have performed numerical calculations to study the generation of arbitrary temperature profiles with high spatial resolution on the surface of a solid. The characteristics of steady-state distributions and time-dependent heating and cooling cycles are examined, as well as their dependence on material properties and device geometry. Ideally, low-power consumption and fast response times are d...
متن کاملFiber Optic Distributed Sensors for High-resolution Temperature Field Mapping
The reliability of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) codes is checked by comparing simulations with experimental data. A typical data set consists chiefly of velocity and temperature readings, both ideally having high spatial and temporal resolution to facilitate rigorous code validation. While high resolution velocity data is readily obtained through optical measurement techniques such as par...
متن کاملHigh-Temporal-Resolution, High-Sensitivity Imaging of Streamers in a Long Atmospheric Pressure Gap
We present time-resolved shutter photographs of streamers in a 13-cm gas-filled atmospheric pressure gap. The photographs show that in pure Nz, the streamers split readily in two. In mixtures containing 0 2 , on the other hand, this bifurcation is substantially reduced. AETHER [l], [2], Loeb [3], [4], and Meek [51 indeR pendently proposed similar mechanisms to explain the breakdown of relativel...
متن کاملInception and propagation of positive streamers in high-purity nitrogen: effects of the voltage rise-rate
Controlling streamer morphology is important for numerous applications. Up to now, the effect of the voltage rise rate was only studied across a wide range. Here we show that even slight variations in the voltage rise can have significant effects. We have studied positive streamer discharges in a 16 cm point-plane gap in high-purity nitrogen 6.0, created by 25 kV pulses with a duration of 130 n...
متن کاملPositive and negative streamers in ambient air: measurements
Positive and negative streamers are studied in ambient air at 1 bar; they emerge from a needle electrode placed 40 mm above a planar electrode. The amplitudes of the applied voltage pulses range from 5 to 96 kV; most pulses have rise times of 30 ns or shorter. Diameters, velocities and energies of the streamers are measured. Two regimes are identified; a low voltage regime where only positive s...
